Decentralized domestic wastewater management as unconventional water resource for agricultural purposes

AbstractThis research addresses biological compact unit(BCU)used for onsite wastewater treatment application and replication in small communities as a non- conventional water resource agricultural purposes. A (BCU) was fabricated installed the in-house experimental zone where domestic sewage delivered to BCU continuously .Operation of continuous, hence at different organic loading rates (OLR) temperatures .The treated fed from sand filter upper side. The quality produced terms physico-chemical characteristics HRT 12h agree with Egyptian permissible limits restricted irrigation. This is because substantial reduction total COD resulting an average effluent concentration 67 mg/l FC 560/100 ml. effluent, treating operated COD, BOD,TSS fecal coliform were 35 ,17 ,5 95/100ml. These values are compatible national legislation reuse un-restricted crops cost construction, operation maintenance will be US$0.34/m3 When adding filter, US$0.46 /m3
